Tonight (Sunday) is the last chance to hear something completely different from Midsummer’s Music! In addition to compositions by Stanford, Britten, and Rheinberger, we will be performing Five Songs by George Gershwin. This piece, for clarinet and string quartet, includes Promenade, “Walking the Dog”; Bess, you is my woman now (Porgy and Bess); Who Cares (Of Thee I Sing); Lize (Show Girl), and I’ve Got Rhythm (Girl Crazy).

The Gershwin performance features clarinetist Todd Cope who performs this composition (and all others) perfectly! Our string quartet,  violinists Isabella Lippi and Stephanie Preucil, violist Sally Chisholm, and cellist Walter Preucil, accompany Todd beautifully in this very different and energetic piece.

Advance reservations are available for Sunday’s performance via this website. Click on the Make a Reservation link at the top of this page. The concert is at the Woodwalk in Egg Harbor and begins at 7:00 PM. The doors open at 6:30 PM. Tickets are $25 per adult and children 17 and under are no charge. A limited number of tickets will be available at the door so plan on arriving early if you don’t have an advance reservation.

Make a joyful noise!
