Midsummer’s Music Festival – Making a Joyful Noise!

Saturday, November 7

It is an absolutely beautiful day in Door County, WI! The sun is out and it’s quite warm for this time of the year. What a wonderful reprieve from the cold and windy day we had yesterday.

Midsummer’s Music is busy making plans for our 20th season. Venues are being lined up and Jim Berkenstock, Artistic Director, is working his programming magic. But it’s not just our summer festival that has us so busy. Of course, we have “A Renaissance Christmas” concerts coming up on December 11, 12, and 13. Reservations are coming in, especially for the concert/dinner at Bjorklunden on the 11th. If you haven’t made your reservations yet, don’t delay. This event sold out last year!

We are also working on our annual presentation of Haydn’s “The Seven Last Words of Christ” on Tuesday, March 30. Last year this performance included not only our wonderful string quartet, but also local actors who portrayed historical characters. We have some new ideas for this spring’s performance so check back with us for more details. Of course, this event would not be complete without the Palm Sunday Brunch on March 28 at Alexander’s in Fish Creek. This has become hugely popular in Door County and the proceeds help offset the costs of Tuesday’s performance.

The prelude to our summer festival would not be complete without the return of the Pro Arte Quartet on Saturday, May 15. We’ll put details on our website, www.midsummerSmusic.com, soon.

So you see, Midsummer’s Music Festival is definitely making a joyful noise in more ways than one. Join us!
