Midsummer’s Music Festival Ends 19th Season

Midsummer’s Music Festival officially ends our 19th season of exceptional chamber music this Saturday. Even though our last concert was on September 6, our season continues until the end of our fiscal year which is October 31.

Looking back, we had another outstanding summer festival. Kudos to Jim Berkenstock, Artistic Director, for creating six masterful programs. If I have to choose my favorite piece, a difficult choice, it would be the Quartet Number 2 in G Minor, Opus 45 for violin, viola, cello, and piano by Gabriel Faure. How four musicians can sound like an entire orchestra boggles the mind. The quartet featured the brilliance of violinist David Perry, violist Sally Chisholm, cellist Walter Preucil, and pianist William Billingham. We hope to have an audio link to add to our website, www.midsummersmusic.com, very soon.

Because we’re at the end of our fiscal year, it’s also time for fundraising. There is still time to make a tax-deductible donation to Midsummer’s Music Festival through our website. It’s quick, easy, and secure. Your donation will help us continue to bring exceptional chamber music to Door County, Wisconsin for many years to come.

Thank you to all of you who have been a part of Midsummer’s Music for our 19th season. Just a warning – the best is yet to come!

Midsummer’s Music Festival. Not for the faint of heart!
